T-Mobile S6 G920T began releasing their versions of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge a few days ago.  The T-Mobile Galaxy S6 edge has the mobile number SM-G920T.  Unlike the S6 versions released by AT&T and Verizon, the T-Mobile S6 doesn’t have restrictions on its bootloader.  Because of this, it’s pretty easy for T-Mobile Galaxy S6 users to tweak their devices.

There is already a version of the popular TWRP custom recovery that is available for the Galaxy S6 G920T.  In this post, were going to show you how you can install it and root the device as well.  Follow along.

1. This guide should only be used with a Galaxy S6 G920T. Don’t use it with any other devices.  Check your model number to be sure.  Go to Settings> General/More>About Device.
2. Charge the battery to at least over 50 percent so you don’t run out of power before installation is finished.
3. Enable your devices USB debugging mode. To do so, you need to enable developer options.  First, go to Settings> System>About Device.  In About Device, you should see the Build Number.  Tap on the Build Number seven times.  Go back to Settings>System.  You should now see Developer Options.  Open it then enable USB debugging mode.
4. Have an original data cable that you can use to connect your device and a PC.
5. Disable Samsung Kies and any firewall or anti-virus programs you have on your PC. They will interfere with Odin.

Note: The methods needed to flash custom recoveries, roms and to root your T-Mobile S6 G920T can result in bricking your device.  Rooting your device will also void the warranty and it will no longer be eligible for free device services from manufacturers or warranty providers.  Be responsible and keep these in mind before you decide to proceed on your own responsibility.  In case a mishap occurs, we or the device manufacturers should never be held responsible.

7. Copy the SuperSu.zip file that you downloaded to the internal storage of your phone.
8. Tatala Odin.
9. Put your T-Mobile S6 G920T into download mode by first turning it off completely. Then, turn it back on by pressing and holding down the volume down, home and power buttons.  Your phone will boot up, when it does, press volue up.
10. Connect the phone to the PC. You should see the ID:COM box in Odin turn blue.
11. Click the AP tab. Select the TWRP tar file you downloaded. Wait for it to load.
12. If you see the auto-reboot option is ticked, untick it. Otherwise leave all options as they are in this photo.
13. Click the start button to flash the recovery.
14. When you see a green light on the ID:COM box, the flashing process is finished.
15. Tuʻu ese le masini.
16. Keep the power key pressed for a bit then turn the T-Mobile S6 G920T off.
17. Turn your T-Mobile S6 G920T back on in recovery mode by pressing and holding the volume up, home and power buttons.
18. Now, booted up in TWRP recovery, go to Install and find the SuperSu file. Flash it.
19. When flashing is finished, reboot the device.
20. Check that SuperSu can be found in the App drawer.
